The Liddell Chapter is in the process of raising funds to erect the first Confederate Monument in Baldwin County and one of the first to be erected in Alabama in the last 100 years. The Monument will be erected in "Monument Row" in the new Bicentennial Park currently under construction in North Baldwin County. The Park will be 400+ acres in size and largely devoted to County history. We are currently over half way to raising enough money to order the basic monument but need to finish that phase and raise enough to do some "fancy work" around it, buy a flagpole, create small monuments to our local units, and do a little landscaping.
We are affording everyone the opportunity to participate in this historic event by honoring your Confederate Ancestors with a MEMORIAL BRICK. These bricks will be a lasting remembrance of those who wore the grey. They are priced at a very reasonable $35.00 each and will be used to pave the area around the monument.
Your ancestor need not be from Baldwin County. Any honorable Confederate Soldier, Sailor, or Marine or any member of the Confederate, State, or Local Government during the years 1861-1865 will Qualify. If you have no ancestry of this type but wish to help we have many men you can "adopt".
